Newmarket has been involved with the Not for Profit Business Association since 1997. Initially, Newmarket carried out the feasibility study on potential collaboration amongst the 9 largest service providers in the physical and sensory disability sector on business issues, including an assessment of the development needs of the potential members. RASLRES is a unique project (in the NPP area) which aims to increase the level of deployment of renewable energy technologies in rural economies, helping faciliatate the creation of local fuel markets.
RASLRES is one of several programmes funded by the Northern Periphery Programme. The NPP is one of thirteen Interreg IIIB programmes set up to encourage and support transnational cooperation between NPP programme areas in Europe.
Since 2008, Clodagh and Mitchell have been part of the Fáilte Ireland Business Mentoring and Advisory Service. In that time we have provided Marketing and eMarketing mentoring to tourism businesses throughout Ireland, from a variety of tourism fields, to ensure they are maximising their marketing reach through their website and social media, while ensuring consistency across their online and offline communications.
David Manley established Newmarket Consulting in 1979 and his ethos of integrity, imagination and enterprise still underpins our approach. After David passed away in 2002, a group of his friends established the David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards, which nurture the enterprising spirit in Ireland’s arts, business and social spheres. Newmarket Consulting continue to be strongly involved with the David Manley Awards.
Newmarket Consulting were privileged to work with the Street Performance World Championships (SPWC) to design and project manage the 2011 Where’s Wally World Records. In addition to applying our project management skills, our involvement in this exciting project allowed us to employ our tourism, marketing and creative know-how to ensure the Where’s Wally World Record became a one of the most widely publicised events of the Summer in Ireland.
Newmarket worked with the SPWC team on ideas generation, planning, logistics, merchandising, sales, marketing plan development and implementation and PR support to help promote the world record attempts in Cork, Portlaoise and Dublin, while also monitoring sales and promotional performance.

In 2009 Newmarket and Karan Thompson Consulting were appointed as Creativity and Innovation Coaches for Dublin as part of the CreativeD project. CreativeD is a project funded through the ERDF Interreg IVB tranche of funding, and has at its core the goal of bringing together the creative industries in Dublin to understand how the sector works, to define the pathways that lead to success and to facilitate network members in progressing projects in a supportive environment.
Newmarket worked with Dublin Castle to evaluate their marketing activities in relation to their Conference Centre. This consisted of individual and focus group interviews with Dublin Castle personnel, users of the Castle’s conference facilities and referrers.
The findings of the Audit were compiled into a Marketing Audit Report and used as the basis to develop a Marketing Plan which was adopted by the Castle.
Newmarket Consulting worked with Emergent Events in relation to developing a robust volunteering strategy in line with best practice (including a Communication Strategy) for recruiting, retaining and recognising volunteers for the Street Performance World Championships 2008 and onwards. Camara, winners of the David Manley Emerging Entrepreneur Awards are a young innovative charity that take use recycled computers from Ireland to drive education in some of the poorest parts of Africa. In keeping with their innovative ethos, Camara worked with Newmarket to develop an efundraising strategy, specifically looking at “what’s new” in the world of efundraising. Our research put us in contact with some of the leading figures in online fundraising in Ireland
Newmarket has worked with Karan Thompson Consulting Limited on the development and implementation of a 6-month national awareness building and advocacy campaign aimed at defining the future strategic direction of music education provision in Ireland. As part of this programme we developed a series of events and activities in order to raise awareness of the existence of the Department of Education’s pilot project for Music Education Partnerships
Newmarket Consulting was commissioned to undertake a strategic review of the National Parents Council Post Primary in December 2006. This incorporated redefining the vision, mission and strategic objectives of the organisation in line with emerging member needs and the current environment in which the organisation and its members operate. Newmarket Consulting was retained by the Accessible Taxi consortium on the development of the Public Relations Campaign for the “Towards an Accessible Taxi Service for All” report. The campaign involved the launch of the report “Towards an Accessible Taxi Service for All”, event management, media releases, stakeholder communications and managing the awareness campaign within the disability sector and relevant government bodies.
Newmarket were retained to carry out focus groups over a number of months with clients of RehabCare who were taking part in a training course on Policy Making. The group consisted of people with disabilities of various ages and abilities. The purpose of the assignment was to ensure that the course was developed in line with the needs of the clients, that the desired outcomes were achieved and that learning from the research
Newmarket worked with EirGen Pharma to carry out a comprehensive examination the pharmaceutical industry in a number of countries with a view to assessing their suitability in relation to potential future developments. A range of research methodologies were employed to provide information on key strategic issues including sectoral dynamics, the legislative environment, financials, business supports, and socio-economic issues.
Newmarket were retained to carry out research into attitudes of employees, employers and trade union representatives in relation to the parental leave and force majeure leave provisions in the Parental Leave Act, 1998. Twenty-five case studies were carried out in organisations around the country, consisting of in-depth interviews with employers, employees and trade union representatives to gauge attitudes to parental and force majeure leave provisions.
The Office of the Director of Community & Enterprise within Dublin City Council, invited Newmarket Consulting to tender for the evaluation of the dublin.ie Access Audit Tool. The Access Audit Tool was developed in line with one of the Strategic Objectives for Dublin city “to ensure that everyone has equal access to public and private services (physical premises, information and communication, transport, awareness etc).
Newmarket Consulting have worked on a number of projects with the Building Maintenance Services Unit in the Office of Public Works. All projects involved analysing key strategic areas for the unit and its development. In all cases, workshops and consultation were key to ensuring the involvement of personnel from all aspects and areas of the unit influenced future plan. All project culminated in reports that were used to meet reporting and accountability requirements internally
The People & Place programme had at its centre the mobilisation of the industry to resolve some of the critical challenges facing the continued delivery of the core values and the unique ‘experience’ that Ireland offers as a tourist destination.
